Together we stand

This National Homelessness Week, I'll be taking on 122,000 steps to raise funds for the 122,000 Australians currently experiencing homelessness.

The funds I raise will support Mission Australia, who believe every Australian should have access to a safe home. Mission Australia offer nationwide wraparound support services to avoid homelessness for the long-term and ensure more people can truly thrive.

I would love your support! Every donation will get me one step closer to reaching my goal and helping Mission Australia find a safe home for Australians in need.

My Updates

Day 5 - 67809 steps achieved

Sunday 11th Aug
Over half-way to reaching 122,000 steps! Today was a chance to do a bigger walk, so I walked from home, in North Sydney, to Centennial Park where Leo was playing football today.  The weather was a stunner which made for an uplifting walk across the bridge, through town and Hyde Park and along Paddington. I plugged into an 80s playlist and before I knew it, I had 10km done! I topped it up with walking Milo in the afternoon around the park.  A good day! Thanks to Brenda for her donation today!

Day 3 - 46,000 steps - Another early morning and a letterbox drop to boot!

Thursday 8th Aug
Hit the pavement again in the early hours. The sun is peeking through just that little bit earlier, gifting me with a uplifting glow at dawn as I clocked up a 4km walk before heading off to work.
I need laps of the library to be included as a legit activity to go toward my steps!
In a bout of multitasking - I combined a big walk this afternoon with a letterbox drop for the school fete. Nice.

Day Two - A walk to one of my favourite spots

Wednesday 7th Aug
A late start for work today - so a chance to do a bigger walk to the beautiful Oyster Cove. Lots of beautiful bushland and colour and no one around. Love it.  Bursts of wattle are coming out, offering the perfume that for me is the promise of Spring.

I get all my other activity and steps darting up and down the library and across the school campus - nice!! I'm sitting on just over 29,000 steps. Not sure if that's on target, I'll have to crunch some numbers!

Day One - Here we go!

Tuesday 6th Aug
Setting out with my trusty hound, Milo, just after 5am. It's still dark and quiet walking along the foreshore of Neutral Bay and Kirribilli, it's pretty satisfying to feel like I have the place to myself. This is our usual morning walk circuit - it comes in a bit over 4km/ 5000+ steps. To reach my target of 122,000 steps, I'll need to knock out another walk and keep myself moving in the Library!
