Together we walk

This National Homelessness Week, I'll be taking on 122,000 steps to raise funds for the 122,000 Australians currently experiencing homelessness.

The funds I raise will support Mission Australia, who believe every Australian should have access to a safe home. Mission Australia offer nationwide wraparound support services to avoid homelessness for the long-term and ensure more people can truly thrive.

I would love your support! Every donation will get me one step closer to reaching my goal and helping Mission Australia find a safe home for Australians in need.

My Updates

Thank you

Wednesday 14th Aug
The last day of the challenge, I had many opportunities to be grateful for. There are lots of people in our communities contributing their time and skills to help others. We all thrive with a strong sense of belonging, purpose and self-esteem. What can you do in your day to help others (and yourself) recognise that in themselves?

Rubbish!

Monday 12th Aug
Tonight is bin night, and what better opportunity to do an emu-bob as I walk?! I had space in my wheelie bins so cleaned up the vacant block near my house. There is often rubbish dumped there, but most people go inside their houses and shut their door so they don't have to look at it. Homelessness means there is no place to escape other people's littering, waste and people wrecking good items with carelessness.

Rest and choice

Monday 12th Aug
Yesterday I had a rest day to manage my health conditions. Doing this challenge has made me consider the impact choice has on health and vice versa. Not everyone has the health to participate in something like this. Not everyone that makes a choice, has the ability to fulfill their choice... What might you take for granted because you are able?

Lookout

Friday 9th Aug
Look out for each other, we are all part of the community, we are a social species and need companionship. Say hi, and chat with people experiencing hardships. One positive interaction can help change a mindset. We all have a right to feel safe and be safe.

Nature walks

Wednesday 7th Aug
Today's hill climb was a great opportunity to connect with country. I saw this kangaroo Jill and her pouch invader Joey on the track.
